Shawl Pin with Leaf Design

These leaf-shaped shawl pins have been carved for us by Luis in remote Chilean Patagonia, using mañío wood (podocarpus nubigenus).

Luis works in the remote mountain community of Futaleufu in Chilean Patagonia, close to the border with Argentina. The area is known for its stunning mountain scenery and world class white water rivers. There is no road access between this part of Chile and the 'mainland' - the community is reliant upon a ferry service which plies its way up the Chilean fjords.
